No lump of coal in the stockings for us this season, eh? Again a huge thanks to all that made 1.41 possible. This thing looks to be a monster and for an assortment of reasons, I've been slow to unwrap and break it down, however my initial take is "OMG. where do I start?" lots of changes, additions, and options, way too much to list. Getting back from a fresh install I went to reinstall the Russian Voice Mod but for some reason the install program does not find the files it needs. Also, for 1.40 and all others before, I used an enhanced sound mod ( LoBlo's Broadband Audio Enhancement Mod ) that among other things changed the annoying and unrealistic sounding crew voices to something a bit more palatable - Does this conflict the new sounds 1.41 has added ( i.e. distant explosions) Playing last night with all mods installed prior to 1.41 (no Rus voice mod) I didn't hear the explosions. I'm suspecting I'm going back to default voices for 1.41.

I can live without that one I suppose, but the Russian Voice Mod is a must. Whatever the case, congratulations on the modification, fellas. Outstanding work, as always. More feedback to come as we're so looking forward to the many hours prowling the depths with Reinforce Alert 1.41.

Victor-3 loadout screen , tube 7 visible in all screens, stores , cm's. But works ok.

Hello friends,

I found another small bugs:

All other units with "seawolf" NB interface shows freq. correct (Seawolf, Seawolf 23, Virginia, Trafalgar, Collins, Harushio, Rubis)

* - those units have VDS with long range passive detection but this solution isn't too effective to "native" TACTAS like on O.H.P. (of course for passive detection). It's because AN/SQR-19 have much longer anntena which is crucial for very low frequency detection.



Udaloy in RA 1.40 was great balanced and powerfull ASW destroyer. Now Udaloy is much better than in RA 1.40

I know almost all sensors have little greater "maximum speed" - which is very good step for game purposes. But Udaloy in my opinion is too much powerful in this version (RA 1.41).

P.S. Why O.H.P have no description in USNI (OWNSHIP INFORMATION section)?

This is bug from fix AI Sensor:

69 - Tactical speed battleships was increased. Default values of sensors suggests that the ship's sensors can operate at 4 knots less than the maximum speed of the sensor. Thus, to the tactical speed of the ship correspond to the declared data, sensors max speed has been increased on all battleships.


Udaloy - is a specialized ASW platform. First of all, everything is just for anti-submarine warfare. Polinom - complex is incredibly large.
For example - in its size it can not be installed on the Sovremennyy.

Frigates same - are multifunctional platforms.
They made that balance versatility, to the detriment of any one primary task.

PS: Do not compare towed sonars on subs and ships.
Naval Sim Engine, processes them differently.

O.H.Perry is also specialized ASW platform with weak bow hull mounted sonar SQS-56. Main strenght for O.H.P is TACTAS. Other navies choose different way for ASW - active VDS and powerful bow sonar which requires large hull.
But those solutions means very effective working in active regime and moderate in passive. O.H.P is weak in active but very effective in passive regime.
Latest version of RA improve Udaloy ASW possibilities in passive - not active regime of working. Active parameters are sill the same as in RA 1.40.
(Bow MF active in RA 1.40 and RA 1.41: max speed 15 , Nrd - 12)

Afterall SQR-19 still have much longer anntena than combined VDS on Udaloy. That means Udaloy spectrum for frequencies should starts higher than 50 or even 100 Hz.
I know Naval Sim Engine isn't perfect and some parameters are difficult to simulate. But now Udaloy (from 80's) have best sensors for passive detection in all game.

But DW is not game from 2016 and it's not good for balance when one units are modernized and others not.
I know most players want to play DW with units from 80' to 2000.
Sizzlers (supersonic versions) are in loadout Akula I (1984) but this missiles went to service about 2012!
This means nobody want to play Akula I because this sub is to loud for modern scenario and too powerful to "classic" (end of Cold War or little after) because of sizzlers.

I personally very likes Udaloy and it was very good balanced warship in RA 1.40.

Like I said before, SQR-19 was best TA in the world but only for passive detection. In that times there was no TA on russian submarines!
VDS is different way for ASW. Passive detection is not main regime for VDS.

Last time my friend on Udaloy detect my 688i via hull sonar in passive mode from 15 nmi. I was above layer, my speed was 5 kts.

Why did you write the the scenario when it is possible to attach an archive file ?
This is in fact not Subsim :-)


It is caused by an error, incorrect installation of frequency 800-1200 Hz to Udaloy.

The range should be 800-2000. Or 600-2000 for Bergamini.

This is fixed.

Hello all, I was referred here by FPSchazly for bug-reporting purposes.

Firstly, I'd just like to say that Reinforce Alert is an absolutely brilliant mod, and the work you've all done on it has been spectacular over the last... six, seven years, has it been? I forget But, as with all great things, there are little kinks here and there. I've found these two so far:

Firstly, the Victor-III (or would you prefer 671RTM? ) has a surplus tube in the loadout interface; it cannot be loaded with anything and is, I guess, a hangover from the platform's origins in the Akula.



Secondly, the narrowband sonar array display has some sort of intermittent brightness issue; contacts' frequency lines are sometimes so dim as to be almost invisible. This has so far occurred on the Victor-III and the Akula, but not with any consistency I can determine so far. (They definitely were there at the time I took the screenshot, but only just!)

For Victor-III and Trafalgar, Trenchant - is uncorrectable.
In gameplay, these bug do not affect.

Regarding the sonar - it is known to me an incident.
Do you have a scenario where always gives a faint line?
I need a scenario.
I can try to correct this bug.

Re: The extra tube, I noticed the absence of it in gameplay, so the cosmetic bug is insignificant - some things you just have to live with!
