Here follow in order my observations :
Question 1 - Is it normal that Amethyste does not detect 688i FLT III running at flank on sphere over 4 NM?
6,4NM with autocrew sounds logical, I do not use autocrew, so it is normal I detected 688i at 4NM only on sphere.
Use outocrew is cheating anyway
But I like it makes the game harder = more interesting!
Question 4 - Amethyste periscope depth not realistic, can you correct to 66ft? (pls correction 62ft read below)

Says last line that there are two periscopes in "La Perle", attack and survelliance bigger one!

Math for my calculation according to picture and 3D view modeled in RA v1.1
1) Place Amethyste at surface sea state 1 and raise periscope
2) Dive and mark depth when water at bottom of conning tower
3) Mark again when water at top of conning tower and start of periscope
4) Mark when water at top of periscope
2-Depth when water at bottom of conning tower = 28ft
3-Depth when water at top of conning tower and start of periscope = 44ft
4-Depth when water at top of periscope = 56ft
Conning tower hight = 44ft - 28ft = 16ft according to RA v1.1 model
Periscope hight = 56ft - 44ft = 12ft according to RA v1.1 model
You can see now how I found 12ft hight for current Amethyste attack periscope
Now taking picture I extrapolate hight of survelliance periscope compare to hight of conning tower.
You will see that survelliance periscope is a bit higher than conning tower. Keeping proportions modeled in 3D view of v1.1,
- I mesure conning tower in picture and find 5 cm
- I mesure survelliance periscope in picture and find 6.5 cm
I know size in ft of conning tower modeled in 3D view in v1.1 = 16ft
By interpolating I find that survelliance periscope should mesure something around 21ft
- I know size of current attack periscope in 3D view is = 12ft
- I know depth when water at top of attack periscope = 56ft (with current periscope 12ft)
- I find difference of hight between existing attack periscope and real survelliance periscope = 21ft - 12ft = +9ft
- I know Periscope Depth for Amethyste - USNI info v1.1 is around = 53ft
Therefore new depth when water at top of new survelliance periscope should be 53ft + 9ft = 65ft
I suggest new periscope depth in USNI for survelliance periscope to be 65 ft - 3ft = 62ft (players will change this according to sea state)
Beacause Amethyste class "La Perle" is equiped with Laser finger in Survelliance periscope, I suggest to live attack periscope as it is and
add (create) new survelliance periscope in rear of conning tower as in picture with hight = 21ft
