I found this earlier and thought it might be useful to some. Got my brother's laptop working the game with windows 8.1 installed. Be sure and read the instructions carefully, especially about the video resolution anomaly. Clean DW install patched to 1.04 and, of course the DWX mod and, it runs perfectly.
